I deleted every JW but one from my FB and it felt great. I wanted my freedom to say and do as I please. Actually, it felt good and now I don't have to read their stupid comments about the DC's and all of the other meetings. There is a sister who would write something everyday and I am sure she is counting her time and it use to irritate me to read that nonscense, now I am free of that.

Hello and my exit story from WTS
by free2Bme13 ini thought it was fitting for me to share my freedom from the witnesses story on independence day weekend.. i dont have any secret info, just experiences that happened to me and started to open my eyes.. i was a third generation, raised in the truth kid who was never supposed to be born, and then never supposed to graduate high school.
ive now been out of high school longer than i was in school.. the beginning of the end started a little less than a decade ago.
i was late 20s at the time.

Welcome Free2Be, I enjoyed reading your story. I am also glad you and your husband came out together, my husband and I did too. I am also happy for you that you have built a better relationship with your brother and your parents haven't shunned you. Your example may help your parents to find the courage and leave too. We have pretty much lost our friends too and I realize they were just conditional friends. I look forward to getting to know you better.

My mother passed away this morning...
by Tatiana infor any old-school ex-jws here that remember my many posts about my abusive jw mother and my sister committing suicide because of it...she passed away this morning because she began to bleed out and refused a transfusion.
she had been in the hospital for a month.
it appears she suffered a stroke and wasn't found by the brothers & sisters for three days (they missed her at the meetings).

Tatiana, I had never read your story but it brought tears to my eyes. You have been through more than anyone should have to go through. I am sorry for your losses and all of the pain you have suffered. I am also glad you have a great relationship with your children and they are there for you.

Passed my Post Grad with 'Outstanding' grade! Shows it's never too late.
by Lozhasleft ini've just had the official results on my pgce.
i'm not posting here to boast, but to encourage any who may have abandoned education because of the pressure as a jw, and who may feel that it's too late to return and achieve such goals.
in the 1980s i stopped halfway through my b.ed honours and accepted a dip.h.e.

Making the Jehovah's Witnesses OWN THEIR OWN EVIL
by Terry indrunkards often scape-goat responsibility onto their drinking--as though it were morally defensible to cause accidents or death!.
serial drinking and driving is a plague on highways across the world.
drunkeness has been labeled as a "disease" and it isn't unusual.

Very interesting Terry. I also wanted to say how sorry I am for you loss, I really respect a man that will raise his children on his own.

exJW Psychology 103--Let's Reconsider "Confidentiality"
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inover the course of decades as a jw, an elder, a bethelite, then learning ttatt and wanting to leave, i'd collected a lot of insight into the power of "confidentiality.
" although the confidentiality in a judicial hearing is supposedly to protect the sinner, in actuality, i saw that it was about control and was protecting the power of the jc.. i didn't use any of this knowledge until i was called before the boe because the other elders figured they had grounds to remove me as an elder.
it was a work situation that only lasted a matter of hours, but it was enough that they seized the moment.

Billy, I always enjoy your post and I really love how you think things through. I hope you continue successfully with your fade and it is nice that your family hasn't shunned you.

Friend gets "scriptural divorce" over wifes transgressions before they got married...
by sosoconfused inso i have a friend in a congregation in new jersey who recently called me to tell me that he got a divorce.
nothing surprising there at first but it is the fact of when it happened.
his wife began pioneering april 1, and after about three weeks she came to him and told him that about 4 years she had engaged in loose conduct (fondling the penis and the guy kissing her breasts) during a time that she was inactive.

This is so disgusting how these elders don't care if they ruin a marriage. Those elders are wrong for encouraging him in they way they have. They are not to encourage anyone to divorce. I hope they are deleted for this but we know that won't happen. It just amazes me what they get away with. If I were the wife I wouldn't want the husband after this, he showed how weak he really is.

Was I too harsh?
by chrisuk inhello, first let me apologixe for both my spelling and my grammer in advance, both are not my strong points.. i'll keep this short.
since i've been a child my mother has studied on and off with jw's ( i'm now 34) so i've been around it most of my life, i studied on and off myself for around 10 years.
thank's to this site and jwfacts i'll never study or step foot inside a kingdom hall again.

I don't think your letter was mean at all. It will be interesting to see what happens next and if he will respect your wishes. I hope you can help your Mom wash her hands of them too. By the way did your Mom ever get baptized after studying on and off. It makes you wonder what reservations she had and maybe you could use that to help her. By the way, welcome!

What piece of WT literature is worth holding onto, or have you kept? Why?
by losingit ini have basically thrown away all of my bound volumes and loose wt and awake magazines.
i kept some bpoks, the insight to the scriptures, god's love, the reasoning book, and daniel's prophecies (this was my favorite) .
i held onto insight to the scriptures after reading some of ray franz's book, crisis of conscience.

I have the complete set of Studies in The Scriptures that are leather bound with gold leaf on the sides. I will keep that for now and anything that is out of print but I am looking forward to this winter when we sit down and burn all of that junk. I was also given permission to sell that set if I wanted to. It was my husbands grandparents set that they never used and is in mint condition! We figured they had a set they studied and this set must have been a special set.

Our Blondie Has A Torn Memiscus.
by LoisLane looking for Superman inblondie posted her watchtower comments for today and her last paragraph was asking for help, suggestions.

Great advice given. I had a torn meniscus a couple of years ago and found a great sports dr. He did an excellent job but one thing I failed to do was go to PT. I was so sick of doctors and just got in a funk and didn't go so I am paying for it now. I am sure scar tissue has formed in there because sometimes it gets stuck and it hurts to move it and I hear crunching at times. So, if you have surgery, make sure you do the PT they suggest. My daughter in law just went through a torn meniscus and ACL and that was a rough surgery because it required bolts and the removal of something in the back of her leg to reconstruct her ACL. Make sure you prop it and ice it. Hang in there. You will be up walking real soon.
